This serie of decorative vases finds its origin in the following postulate pronounced a long time ago by my ceramic teacher in San Francisco :
“A ceramic can break in the blink of an eye as well as it can last millenniums.”
With all the recent events in the world, this sentence, which had been in my head for years, came out with a clear meaning: use ceramics to witness our civilization. I wonder what part of it would need to be remembered 1000 years from now. Music directly came to my mind as it is key to awake emotions and make us feel alive. I’m choosing lyrics from iconic songs, many of them listened when younger, sounds present behind many important moments in my life.

After throwing my ceramics on the wheel, I use the same clay body to write on top of each vessel and apply the glaze once fired. I love the minimalism look of each vessel combined with a touch of rustic aesthetic. Having the letters embossed instead of engraved allows to catch the light compared to playing with the shadow.
The result offers a surprising aesthetic with minimalist shapes and tones elevated with contemporary texts.
Up until now I have mostly been writing songs with special meaning in my personal life. Little by little people is taking part of the project by suggesting songs, the final idea being to create together a stronger witness of our civilization.
